Darren Shanamp;#039;s real name is Darren Oamp;#039;Shaughnessy. He was born in London, England on July 2, 1972. He studied Sociology and English at Roehampton University in London. He then worked for a cable television company in Limerick for a couple of years, before becoming a full-time writer at the age of 23.#xd;#xa;#xd;#xa;In January 2000, his first childrenamp;#039;s book, Cirque du Freak, was published. It went on to become a series. He also wrote a total of 12 books about vampires and The Demonata series.#xd;#xa;#xd;#xa;He has also written some adult books including Procession of the Dead, Hellamp;#039;s Horizon, and City of the Snakes.
