Neela Sakaria: Thank you for joining us. Can you start by telling us what inspired you to write LIGHT VISION?
Coco Tralla: It started with revealing false beliefs, then it evolved into lessons learned though leadership. Every major belief system has had errant leadership as part of its legacy. "Light Vision: Simultaneous Dimension Series, Book One" portrays Luca as an errant Sacerdote (High Priest of Italian witches), who believes he's seeking justice for his people by plotting against the Roman Catholic Church. Luca's vendetta stems from the legacy of two errant Popes: one who allowed the Inquisition to occur and the other who beheaded Beatrice Cenci for allegedly killing her sexually abusive, wealthy father. Since marble sculptures of the graceful young girl during her repose in death can be found throughout the layers of antiquity beneath the city-the place Italians call Underground Rome-it was important to recall her spirit. Because she continued to proclaim her innocence and faith throughout her torture, even before her beheading, one must question intent in view of the monies seized afterward. Accurate records are hard to find regarding Beatrice's character, especially her age. Legends claim she died at age fifteen, and many Italians question the accuracy of age twenty-two in the official record. Nevertheless, slanderous accounts of Beatrice Cenci abound, and all of them paint a heinous picture of cruelty, but the people of Rome know her tragic demise still haunts the Eternal City.
Cenci wasn't the only ghost who inspired me as I wrote "Light Vision," the Holy Strega or the founder of witchcraft appeared while I was writing and researching in Rome. The Holy Strega, a legendary healer, recorded her tenets of belief in the nine scrolls of Aradia, but her reverent belief system changed into something "evil" as a direct result of the Inquisition. Since inquisitors kept detailed records of information "extracted" through torture (a legalized method of interrogation at the time), the written record was altered forever by papal decree. With respect to all belief systems, "Light Vision" helps us learn how to love, especially through diversity and conflict.
Neela: Please explain to our readers what you mean by "reality fiction."
CT: REALITY FICTION books are novels about mysterious people in exotic places; people and places that are generally unknown to the public, but exist nonetheless. Each book in the seven book series contains a knowing that has been intentionally destroyed over time, but through the Novels of Lost Knowledge the wisdom is revealed once again. Book one of the seven book series reveals the lost knowledge of magick and witchcraft.
I trademarked REALITY FICTION because I didn't want the end product to become like Reality TV. Since Reality TV is a catch all phrase that means profit rather than truth, trademarking the words REALITY FICTION ensures every book in the genre maintains the high standard of imparting truth and knowledge. REALITY FICTION books aren't about money making; they are about changing the way we think and act to make the world a better place.
Neela: What would you say is Diana's biggest strength? Her greatest weakness?
CT: Diana's greatest strength is her resiliency. At first she doesn't know what she's capable of, but once she's regressed to experience her past lives, she begins to understand her self because past life regression uncovers the motivation that drives our instinct and intuition. She's like everyone else when it comes to change-she's terrified-but Diana's ability to adapt shapes her character into someone who learns to follow her instincts and act on an inner knowing.
Diana thinks her greatest weakness is her vulnerability, especially with those she loves. Since she claims everyone she ever loved died, Diana is wary of people who care. And when the people she loves continue to accidentally die, Diana wonders if she'll will find love again. In "Light Vision," Diana's weakness becomes an asset because being vulnerable allows the mysterious people and exotic places to become part of her world. .
Neela: How would you respond to potential readers who might be skeptical about the subject matter of the book - namely, witches and witchcraft?
CT: "Light Vision" provides us with a wisdom that has been lost for centuries about witches and witchcraft, and more specifically the occult and magick. Magick, spelled with a "k" at the end, means ancient magick not fakery. If you've ever wondered how a battery is charged or why scientists have discovered molecules that disappear and reappear in their microscopes, then this book provides answers. It's about real magick, which is the ether or what scientists once thought was a vacuum.
The Novels of Lost Knowledge contain the wisdom of the magnetic and etheric fields of the Earth, then uses the energy for a greater good for humanity and the planet. The magnetic and etheric fields will be explained in "Energy Grid: Simultaneous Dimension Series, Book Two" because the grid scientifically proves an invisible dimension exists, yet its existence alludes us because of our limited vision and preconceived notion of reality.
Neela: Tell us more about the title of the book - LIGHT VISION. What does it signify?
CT: "Light Vision" is about the field of potentiality or seeing things differently. The book explains how people experience going "through the light" when they die and come back, which is a phenomenon readers need to know about before they read "Energy Grid."
There is a language of light that has been lost through the ages, and "Light Vision" deciphers the linguistic code for us to understand it. Light means energy and without it we are doomed, so understanding the light is essential to our existence. "Light Vision" opens the door to new ways of seeing things, and illuminates that which was once known by the ancients, but was destroyed over time because this knowing clarifies the soul's journey.
Neela: You write with a very vivid and descriptive style. Do you use any particular techniques to help with your writing or to help flesh out descriptive imagery? Are there any writers you admire or look to for inspiration?
CT: It's not the living who inspire me the most, it's those who have passed, especially the famous and legendary spirits-the ghosts of our past. The best technique I know for writing is to do it. For example, if I'm writing a scene that involves movement of the hand, I will make the same motion with my hand to "see" it, then write about it. However, I did not experience the sex magick scenes in "Light Vision," I studied the rites in the written record and wrote the scenes. Since REALITY FICTION books contain actual customs and beliefs of different cultures worldwide, the modern sex magick rituals in "Light Vision" describe the actual rite. Although sex magick is performed by a relatively small group of modern day witches, I couldn't resist placing these unusual people and their rites in the underground layers of antiquity beneath Rome. The plot is fiction, but the rites occur even today.
Due to this controversial aspect of the book, "Light Vision" was banned by the Chalice Well bookshop in England. While I was there doing research on my next book of the series, "Energy Grid," I met the Guardians of the Well and immediately befriended the venerable keepers of the ancient site. But after they read book one, "Light Vision," the Guardians sent me a kind letter explaining their decision. Be that as it may, I honor their position because people need to use free will and choice in the matter-to read or not to read. But banning the book was a curious turn of events because the Chalice Well was once a sacred place for Druids, Celts and Italian witches to gather-even the legendary King Arthur, a character in "Energy Grid," honored the sacred well because the legend of the chalice and King Arthur's table continue to thrive at the gardens of the Chalice Well in Glastonbury, England. .
Neela: What was the greatest challenge in writing LIGHT VISION? How did you deal with it?
CT: The greatest challenge was to believe in myself enough to defy the naysayers. All my life I dreamed of writing these stories, yet people either balked or had a preconceived notion of "been there, done that." Naysayers kept telling me "everything has been done before," and now I can honestly say-it hasn't.
After trying to persuade hundreds of agents, publishers and producers to endorse my vision of the seven book series called the Simultaneous Dimension, no one saw it. That's when I formed Tralla Productions and started from ground zero. And now I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing in this lifetime because this is my calling-to bring a message to Earth and humanity. I signed up to do it before this lifetime. Even if you don't believe in lifetimes or callings, where did I get the knowing to write about something that's not in the books on the shelf or in the preconceived reality most people consider real?
Neela: LIGHT VISION is the first in a series of seven books, correct? Can you tell us more about what readers can expect from the rest of the series?
CT: "Light Vision" and the remaining six books are about a dimension that exists, but most people can't see it with their limited perception. The title, subject matter and book cover images for every book in the series can be found at my website, www.sevenbooks.com. Each book will have the same look, feel and quality as "Light Vision," and after finishing this series, I will start the next one called the Fifth Dimension Series. In the next seven book series, book one will be a sequel to "Light Vision" with its unique characters and setting, book two will be a sequel to "Energy Grid" with its unique characters and setting, and so on.
Neela: Can you talk a little bit about the unique and beautiful choice of binding for the book? What prompted this decision?
CT: Thank you for pointing out its uniqueness. I selected the unusual crackle glaze cover, bookmark and gilded edging along with the recycled paper because I wanted the books to feel and look ancient and extraordinary. REALITY FICTION books are intended to represent something found inside a niche in the pyramids of Egypt or the bluestones of Stonehenge. I came to this decision through inner guidance, which always directs me in these matters.
Neela: Your work has a broader mission than simply entertaining or storytelling. Can you talk more about that mission and what you hope readers will take away in terms of their relationship to the Earth?
CT: From the beginning, I thought writers of the entertainment industry have a responsibility, as well as an opportunity to write about a greater good for humanity and the world. The books I write are called the Novels of Lost Knowledge because not only do they contain extensive research of published non-fiction, but also they impart a knowledge I've received from many past lives or incarnations. I understand the development of the soul's progression because I've uncovered it within the unconscious mind. Everyone has a unique progression of the soul, and you can uncover it, if you so desire. If you believe in astrology and natal charts, my chart has five planets in Leo and they are all in the fifth house of creativity, more specifically in writing and the arts. You have to "earn" a natal chart like mine through lessons learned in previous lifetimes. Even if you don't believe in past lives or natal charts based on the stars, why have I received the inspiration to write not one, but two seven book series?
After savoring the layers of antiquity beneath Rome, embracing the dolmans of Stonehenge and examining crop circles that reoccur and align with England's sacred sites, I am certain ancient sites hold the key to replenishing our natural resources and uniting humanity to make Earth a peaceful, abundant planet once again. The ancient sites, especially the lessons learned from Atlantis, tell a story; one that calls upon us to create a new time, as well as a new world. With that in mind, Tralla Productions plans to produce New Time Calendars and Gridline Maps to connect us to the ancient sites so that we can tap into a natural healing resource.
Neela: Do you have anything else you'd like to share with our readers?
CT: I'd like to announce the upcoming release of "Energy Grid: Simultaneous Dimension Series, Book Two," which will be announced on the front cover of the "Bowker's Buyers Guide: Winter 2006" issue in December 2005. Book two of the Novels of Lost Knowledge reveals the lost wisdom of the etheric and magnetic fields of the earth as it relates to humans to help us interact and learn from nature, as well as from other sources beyond our world. In "Energy Grid," Omar Weizman travels to the English countryside where crop circles and ancient sites are being used as communication devices by other universes.
Neela: Thank you for your time.
