When she was 20 years old, she sold her first novel, Walking after Midnight, written under the pen name Alicia Scott. After graduating from college, she became a management consultant and wrote romance novels in her spare time. She eventually became a full-time author. She wrote 13 romance novels before turning to thrillers. Her thrillers include The Perfect Husband, The Killing Hour, The Neighbor, Hide, Say Goodbye, Gone, The Next Accident, and The Third Victim. She is the author of the bestselling D.D. Warren series. She lives in New Hampshire.
