Richard Sapir
Murphy has been an adjunct professor at Moravian College in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, while also hosting workshops and lectures at various other colleges and universities. He has served on the board of the Mystery Writers of America, the International Association of Crime Writers, the American Crime Writers League and the Screenwriters Guild. He is also a member of the Adams Roundtable, a New York writers social group.
Murphy has won various awards for his body of work, including the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Award for "The Grandmaster" and "Pigs Get Fat, " and a Special Award for "Trace." He has also received the Private Eye Writers of America's Shamus Award for "The Ceiling of Hell" and "Another Day, Another Dollar." A few of Murphy's books have been made in major motion features featuring star power such as Arnold Schwarzenegger.
