Explore! Each week, the reader can explore a different type of fiber art and become inspired by the artist story behind the work!
Make it! Capturing the handmade trend with work from 25 Midwest fiber artists; knitting, weaving, quilting, needlework, batik, dyeing, spinning, crochet, beadwork and paper arts (just to name a few), the Almanac is a source of inspiration for all who like textile and fiber arts. Thanks to Midwest knitting pattern author Sheryl Thies the book has one kntting and one crochet pattern included. Plenty of space to take pattern notes on the sketchpaper in the back of the book!
Giving back! Since 2011, Minnesota based Wildwood Press has promoted over 75 Midwest fiber artists through printed publications, online feature articles, exhibits and events. Annually Wildwood Press sponsors a two day Showcase for the artists to meet, exhibit and sell their work. It's super fun, well attended and held at the Textile Center in Minneapolis.
