More DescriptionWyoming native, Mysti Reutlinger, gave birth to her first child August 13, 1999. Just as she was beginning to understand the immeasurable love between a parent and child, her son passed away during the night to SIDS. She found him early April 10, 2000. Since that time, Mysti has worked to find peace as she rode the intense waves of grief that left her struggling to eat, bathe, and function as any normal adult would in normal situations. After a suicide attempt in 2001, Mysti sought help from psychologists, psychiatrists, and through grief support groups. The coping skills she learned did not provide the change she desired in her emotional well-being. Overhearing a conversation while at lunch piqued her interest and she stumbled into a life of purposeful gratitude that brought the changes Mysti desperately needed to regain control of her life.Since that time, Mysti has worked privately with parents who have lost children in utero, born still, as infants, and through adulthood. The time spent coaching these parents has allowed Mysti to learn the intimate mannerisms that proved most difficult for grieving parents to release so that they may heal. In 2013, Mysti launched MourningMom.com to share her story with the world with the ultimate desire to be the voice for all parents unable to share their truth with the world. Mysti's work lead to a mini-course request from the founder of a coping skills group. The response received from the Gratitude mini-course lead to the creation of a comprehensive course and a journal for grieving parents.
