Garret Abnet, a once powerful gunslinger known as a fencer, was down and out, having destroyed everything and everyone close to him. Out of nowhere, a mysterious wizard seeks him out and proposes that he deliver an object of great significance to an unknown recipient out in the wilds of the "Harsh Lands". Garret, trying to piece his life back together, blindly accepts the task. What he doesn't know is that powerful forces are pursuing the object, riding in the bowels of a mechanical, snake train.
