September 11, 2001 was a day of national tragedy and it was on that day that I received official notice that I was a divorcee. The court document was certified, authorized, and notarized but rather short and I really didn't read it; giving it only a glance to recognize what it was and then tossed it on the kitchen counter. I had been expecting the document and already knew the details that were precisely spelled out. A divorce when it happens to you is a tragedy...... For Alvin suspicion became a way of life. He made a decision to stay in his mother's house. For two years, he never went on the porch, in the yard, and he barely left the living room..... He turned daydreaming into an Olympic sport. He wrote a complete musical stage production in his head. He thought it helped him cope with whatever was troubling him. He wasn't sure if it would be a comedy or a tragedy but in some ways, he knew the difference was determined by your perspective because, most of the time, he didn't know if he should laugh or cry.
