More DescriptionA large group of school-age children was asked to produce mandalas. The children came from a range of social classes and were aged between 10 and 13. The project was carried out to see whether or not any conclusions could be drawn from the relative percentages of colours used in the mandalas of males and females and across the ages. A further aim was to discover whether conclusions could be drawn from the use of symbols in these mandalas. The results concerning colour usage were quite clear and could be linked to known facts about child development. The different usage of symbols by female and male children across the age ranges also supported the findings of the colour analysis.
