Ellen is openly Gay and had been in love with Louise long before a drunken night as teenagers seven years ago when they slept together. This night led to a two month secret romance between them. But because Louise wasn't sure and didn't want anyone to know it put a strain on their relationship. So much so that she called time on the romance breaking Ellen's heart. Louise just put the two month fling down to "a part of growing up " and "experimenting with her sexuality" and moved straight on to Terry, a Guy who worked for the buildding company her Father owned.
