More DescriptionImagine being called an island, but you're on dry land. The citizens of this 40 x 40 square mile area in the Jim Crow south were so out of sync with the hatred and prejudice of that era, they in fact were dubbed; "The Island" by the local communities. It was as though someone took a page out of the 21st Century and placed it in the 1960's. Whites and Blacks lived and loved in harmony within these parameters. They set an example back then, that even today is hard for many to follow. The actual place still exists but the uniqueness of it has faded to the blackness of time. However; it is often revisited in the chambers of the minds of real people who actually lived in that real place. Lennette and I invite you there, via the chambers of our minds, on an imaginary train called; "Time Trak". That place was indeed an island, and we're proud to have lived there during its hay day! Welcome Aboard!
