Babcock who enlisted at 15 years of age was the last link to the 640,000 Canadian men and women who served in the First World War. As a member of the Young Soldiers' Battalion he popularized a unit that previously was not well known. It protected, trained and provided over 600 minors who came of age and served as replacements for the theatre of France.The Young Soldiers' Battalion during WWI protected underage boys that had enlisted and made their way over to England and France. It sent them home or trained them until they came of age and were ready to fight. In this book the author describes the history of this unit and provides lists of the young men that served in the Young Soldiers' Battalion.
