More DescriptionDeadly Diplomacy is a documentary taken from shortwave news broadcasts, newspapers, television news, and National Public radio, in all, 19 different sources for the last two years of the Bosnian Conflict. The best source by far and above all was Radio Netherlands followed by Die Deutsch Welle. The worst was BBC and Radio Moscow. In this book you will find that Major Milar Aramovic of the Serbian Army commanded the machine gunners after the fall of Srebrenica who killed 7 to 9,000 unarmed men and boys who were supposed to be protected by the UN Peacekeepers. Why were they killed? The Dayton Peace Accords were signed with the Serbs getting 51% of Bosnia and Croats getting 49% which was to be shared with Bosnians. This does not discuss the oil reserves of Bosnia which the Russians had offered to develop for the Serbs after they completed their conquest of Bosnian and ethnic cleansing. This is discussed in another book, "The Age of Disinformation" in the story, "Coffee and Conversation" which gives the story of why Sarajevo was chosen to get Turkey into WW I and the primary reason WW I was created. But the news reports, especially from America and Britain, lacked real information except for one article in the "Wall Street Journal" which told of the Russians sending all of their weapons, tanks, and fuel to Serbia with their withdrawal from East Germany. This is how the diminutive nation of Chechnya was able to inflict such heavy casualties on the new Russian Republic of President Boris Yeltsin and Mr. Yeltsin calling for atrocities on Chechen villages which is a war crime for which he was never charged for. Why were the crimes committed against the Bosnians? Very simply stated, they did not have the people primed to get their side of the news into the newspapers and news media while the Serbs used the Communists in the American news media what goes back to Karl Marx who made his living writing a column in Horace Greely's newspaper called, "Revolution and Counter-Revolution", and Trotsky and Bukharin working on newspapers in New York City as well as the schools of journalism that many young Communists in America entered to get their start in manipulating the news. Bosnians, were also under the Communist system after WW II ended, but their devotion to Islam was what marginalized them as Communism has two basic tenets which is "No religion" and a secular One World Government under them. Radio Netherlands played no favorites and when Muslims of Kyrgyzstan poisoned the alcoholic drinks they gave to Russians celebrating New Year there, Radio Netherlands was the only news service reporting it. They also reported the Dutch soldier who participated with the Serbs in the gang rape of a 16 year old Bosnian girl after the fall of Srebrenica. The girl committed suicide and the Dutch commander did not punish the Dutch soldier which Radio Netherlands duly reported without embellishing anything more. Radio Netherlands became a thorn in the side of the Serbs in Belgrade with their news reports on the war by jamming their radio broadcasts and then broadcasting Radio Belgrade over the frequency assigned to Radio Netherlands which made no outcry over this infringement on their radio frequency. The author notes that he received high handed treatment from the CIA and MI6 for his letters to Congress with quotes from Radio Netherlands and others that gave out much more information that was in the CIA daily briefing sent out by the CIA to the White House and Congress. Is the book worth reading? Well, you will see how the UN destroyed Bosnia but their was a lot of help from Britain, the US, and Russia.
