English summary: The self-perceptions and perceptions of others portrayed in German and Polish literature allow conclusions to be drawn about cultural identity as well as existing stereotypes. Over the past few decades--especially since the developments after 1989--it can be assumed that a sustained change has taken place in German-Polish relations. This has been accompanied by a partial deconstruction of existing stereotypes and cliches. And with it comes a plea for openness to others, their values and their culture. This change in perspective was not least attributable to the fact that the past was remembered and forgotten in a particular way. As a consequence there has been a growing willingness to consider "the other side with one's own eyes" (Uwe Johnson). The contributions to this volume demonstrate that in this process literature as well as cinematic productions, drama and the visual arts have played a role that should not be underestimated, especially by depicting 'stirring experiences'. German description: Die in der deutschsprachigen und polnischen Literatur entworfenen Fremd- und Eigenbilder lassen Ruckschlusse uber die kulturelle Identitat wie auch existierende Stereotype zu. Fur die letzten Jahrzehnte wird man davon ausgehen konnen, dass ein nachhaltiger Wandel in den deutsch-polnischen Beziehungen eingetreten ist. Als Folge davon ist es zu einem Abbau existierender Stereotype gekommen. Damit in Verbindung steht ein Pladoyer fur Offenheit gegenuber dem Anderen, seiner Werte und seiner Kultur. Der Perspektivenwechsel war nicht zuletzt deshalb moglich, weil in besonderer Weise erinnert und vergessen wurde. Zudem hat die Bereitschaft zugenommen, die andere Seite mit ihren eigenen Augen (Uwe Johnson) zu betrachten. Die Beitrage zeigen, dass in diesem Prozess Literatur wie auch filmische Inszenierungen, das Theater oder die Bildende Kunst eine nicht zu unterschatzende Rolle gespielt haben, auch und gerade, indem sie aufstorende Erfahrungen zum Gegenstand der Darstellung machten.
