More DescriptionThis guide will lead the teacher or counselor to help English language learners understand and/or adapt to the English-speaking culture. What exactly is English-speaking culture, you ask? Well, most English-speaking countries today have roots in former Latin and Germanic cultures since the English language is a Latin-influenced Germanic language. This history leads to many present day similarities in each English-speaking culture around the world. ESL for Beginners Culture Explorers aims to expose the student to the commonalities that exist in English-speaking cultures, thus making the transition to or understanding of the English culture smoother. The guide will focus on the values, holidays, and traditions of various English-speaking countries and it is a perfect curriculum to support an English Club or to just to give your ESL/EFL students a fun cultural experience! These sessions work well as whole class activities, during some extra time in an English-speaking language program. In addition, the sessions in this guide can be implemented as a counseling/guidance group. This guide is appropriate for both bilingual/ESL and counseling environments, with students ages 8 to adult. This product is Volume One of the series and includes activities for six sessions, approximately an hour each to be facilitated once per week. In addition to the six session plans, this guide also comes with a recommendations guide for facilitating group sessions, a parent permission letter, data templates for session note keeping (plans and summary), poster templates, fun activities, and more!
