More DescriptionThe Faux-Fiti book is a 12-month daily journal highlighting artwork by LMNOP.~~I've been asked what I mean when I use the term Faux-fiti...The genesis of the word came from a question that flashed in my mind the summer of 2011... "What would it look like if I took my portfolio to the outside world and superimposed those images onto pictures of Saint Paul [my home town]?" The answer I arrived at resulted in "Faux-fiti [artificial-graffiti]: A place where fine art meets street art." To approaching the project with this as my credo, I had to break the rules about how graffiti breaks the rules. It's important to point out that no private or public spaces were harmed or altered for the making of these images. By strategically removing the pesky 'law' part of the equation [being arrested/getting bail money/acquiring a record] I grabbed a camera, snuck around, shooting spots that lookedlike they fit the bill and playing innocent when questioned. Next I moved to a computer, scanning the drawings that were hiding out in my portfolio. And with some quality time in Photoshop and a whole lot of patience & perseverance & image tweaking I broughtimage & environment together, creating my brand of graffiti without a single brush withJohnny Law. So from a quiet little scribble in my journal to occasionally epic visions of what someday may become real [stay tuned]... That's quite a leap of faith for this creative person.And... now, with publishing this book, I'm finally ready to invite you into the art of my non-public public art. Now you [yes you] go forward and carry this with you for the next year.Draw/write/create your possibilities in these pages. When you free yourself from the way things 'should' be done wonderfulness can happen. Enjoy,LMNOP = Lisa-Marie, Not [Obviously] Presley
