If you love America and it's beautiful scenery, I highly recommend this book...by Michael G., Philadelphia*** BOOK EXCERPTS ***---We continued our drive: the high peaks of the mountain range emerged at the horizon-at first, as an obscure, thin border. With our progress, they slowly stood tall from the desert plains. I was about to enter the world of mountains-what a contrast to the flat delta of Bangladesh. Tears rolled down my cheeks. ---Omar turned his head toward me for a split second then turned back to the TV. "You are addicted to traveling," he said. I knew what he meant, but he didn't say it. He didn't approve of my trips-to him they were a waste of his time and our money.---My grandmother sits on the small piri and cuts the fish my grandfather has just caught. She places the ginger root and onion on the pata to smash. The iron pot is on the clay stove. Soon the fish and the fresh spices are ready to be cooked. ---I looked around-the scattered Cypress trees bathed in the Caddo Lake. They formed a deep mystery across the bayou. Their Spanish Moss arms swaying in the wind formed a companionship with the Cypress trees: I felt a welcome into their world of beauty and grace. ---The shop owner walked around the car and came near me, "So, you came all the way from Bangladesh to camp in New Mexico!" he said with a smile. We all burst into laughter. *** This book will lift your spirit, make you proud of North America: the land, its people, and its soul. ***
