These include guides to medicines, restrictions, and practical information that you might not obtain from the doctor or hospital. I wish I could paint an entirely rosy picture, but that would be misleading. Reconstruction demands trust in an unknown process and there will be days when you want to give up. It is a rough road that will test your tenacity, but you will come out on top. Unlike mastectomy surgery whereby participation was not by choice, reconstruction will be on your terms. You are the director, and your beautiful new breast(s) will be of you and your plastic surgeon's meticulous design. You will be elated and astonished!This book takes you beyond reliance on the Internet, a few photos, and hearsay. Knowledge is power, so I intend to assist you in becoming an informed and influential patient.
