It is especially for those practitioners who share my dissatisfaction with the socio-cultural limitations of traditional group theories and models, and who want to join me at the cutting edge of our work in an increasingly multicultural social and organizational environment. This book uses an approach called "intersectionality". According to McCall, intersectionality is a research methodology of studying "the relationships among multiple dimensions and modalities of social relationships and subject formations". Accordingly, I introduce philosophy, religion, cross-cultural studies, field theory, social psychology and group theory and all the while weaving my personal and professional experience and practice into the rich patterns that emerge, giving them depth and substance.
