It is the story of one man, George Armstrong, also known as Cutter, who wages a holy war against wolves, and against the one wolf who fights back, the wolf they now call the Shadow Wolf. It is the story of another man, Dean Hoover, who is trying to make his own life right, and who is trying to stop Cutter, not knowing how much he should give up to protect a wild animal. These characters will come together in the woods of Minnesota for a last showdown of man against nature, where the odds are bad for all of them, and where their problems are just beginning.
