This 1000 year old pilgrimage trail takes them through tiny villages and larger towns, from the treeless hot plains to the mountains, as they walk to Santiago de Compostela in the far west of Spain. They travel on dirt paths or asphalt roads, in the heat or cold, sometimes in early morning darkness as they meet other fellow pilgrims all on "The Way" to Santiago. They stay in albergues (pilgrim hostels), eat in local bars (restaurants), see wonderful sights as they walk through history, 10 miles or so each day.
