In this short book it is suggested that the nature of psychology and psychotherapy can be understood by observing the nature of reality. In order understand reality an attempt must be made to be open to change and not cling to one dogmatic idea regarding reality, psychology or one particular approach to psychotherapy. For the reader who is confused by the differing perspectives in psychotherapy this short book will offer satisfying insight and food for thought regarding the psychotherapy, the universe and how its nature can be understandably misunderstood as a God. It is a reflective and highly philosophical view on the process of mind and its relationship to nature and the universe. It starts with a very basic description of how the universe came into existence and develops (actualizes) and suggests that the same process is evident in all nature including human psychology. The role of nature and instincts is discussed with equal respect as nurture and experience in creating personality. The author describes a holistic approach to psychotherapy and counseling based on principles of balance and growth, suggesting that growth in a psychological sense is impossible or impeded if psychological balance is not present. Hypothetical Mindfulness is a non dogmatic approach to reality where a quiet mind and openness to new experience in the moment is presented as the key to psychological balance.
