More DescriptionIt was so nearly a good day. It started with a kiss and ended like a slap in the face. And so for Joseph, a Consultant Psychologist and his wife Kiera, a gifted surgeon, the nightmare begins. A late night phone call from the mysterious Commander Mudd, a member of the security services, breaks a romantic interlude. And just why did he call so late at night, with so trifling a request, when it seemed that all he wanted to do was to arrange a meeting with Joseph? But Mudd was a clever man. He deliberately planted a seed and hoped once it took root it would grow like bindweed. 'It was just one article in a psychology journal.' Joseph began, trying to remain calm and indifferent. 'Written in haste...after a significant trauma...Perhaps it shouldn't be taken too seriously...they were after all, just dreams.' The article focussed on the possibility of two aspects of the same being continuing to exist in parallel. Joseph was convinced sharing his somnambulistic experiences would promote a debate and other people would come forward to support the notion. But that did not happen and other than a few oddball responses his writings had slipped through unnoticed and without comment: Until yesterday. 'Oh...on the contrary Joseph...' Mudd's voice oozed from the speaker, wrapped itself around Joseph's brain and virtually forced him to pay close attention. 'I am sure you believed what you wrote then and you believe it now...The strange thing is...so do I.'Warned by the odious Charlie Lamb, of Mudd's true intent, Kiera and Joseph take flight and so it begins. A deadly game of cat and mouse, traversing the ancient and historic land of the Prince Bishops, from Durham Cathedral, to the icy seas off Holy Island, in the furthest and bleakest reaches of north east England. Kiera and Joseph seemed destined to be caught until the arrival of an old friend, Lightening, a larger than life-talking and flying horse. Saved from the clutches of the ever more frightening and murderous Mudd, they travel together, through a worm hole and enter the comparative safety of a parallel world. But things go from bad to worse.Once again Joseph comes face to face with the terrifying evil of The Dark Lord. And with the help of the other One Soul, Karina, the daughter of the Lord of Light and her few remaining comrades, he finds that he is the protagonist in a final, heroic battle to save the world.
