They want to get married because Ramon` has no rights living at the the ranch that he built for her mother, her mother had a Will written before her death stating he would own nothing at the time of her death. Ramon` wants Marissa so he can keep the rights and ownership of the ranch so he kidnaps her back. Antonio is out to get Ramon` for taking Marissa away from him, he wants her and her family to safe from the likes of Ramon`. She will do anything so her family can live peacefully without Ramon's constant grumpiness and vile temper.
