Where is Clarabelle Grayson?

Nobody knows! One day she was in Goldrock, happy, it seemed, though struggling with the challenges of persuading the bashful, young Sheriff Jed Barton to pop the question or even hold a coherent conversation with her; the next day she was gone without a trace.

Did the pretty teen, frustrated and broken hearted, leave for a fresh start in a bigger town where there would be no reminders of her failing romance? Or were there forces more sinister at work?

The townsfolk of Goldrock aimed to find out. So after forming up a posse led by Buck McClaine and making use of Jed's superior tracking skills, they headed off across southwestern Montana Territory following the only clues they had: a travelling snake-oil salesman, a horse with a nicked shoe on the left hind, and a brand made up of a mysterious symbol that nobody had ever seen before and which didn't show up in any brand book. It was a long shot, but every step would take them closer to discovering the terrifying truth.
