In the story, there is an encounter between a mysterious old gentleman and the narrator's female companion. The narrator then unwillingly explains to his female companion who this old man is. Facino Cane is the next story in the 'Scenes de la vie parisienne' section of "La Comédie humaine".AUTHOR: Honoré de Balzac (1799-1850) was a frank and independent French thinker.
