More DescriptionThe mission of a seminary must be the training of men for the Office of the Holy Ministry. The sound theological training of future bishops, pastors and deacons is vital for the health of the Church, and if that training is neglected, the Church will suffer both immediately and in future generations. Therefore, the primary work of our seminary is that our seminarians are trained to study the Holy Scriptures, the faithful exposition of the Scriptures contained in the Book of Concord (1580), the Early Church Fathers, and the Orthodox Lutheran Fathers. Upon this foundation is then built a proper understanding and practice of the liturgy and the role of the pastor within his parish and the Evangelical Lutheran Diocese of North America (ELDoNA).
