When Gabriel is pointed in the direction of an ancient maze, he is transported to another world filled with caverns, cliff dwellings, and rain forests. He attempts to befriend Kieran, a fellow traveler who fluctuates between best bud and budding serial killer. Soon, Gabriel realizes that Kieran is an outcast whose resentment toward him peaks when the local chieftain’s daughter is presented to Gabriel as a potential wife.
