More DescriptionThere was a time, a period in the evolution of nation states in Africa, and especially in Nigeria, when the expectations rose very high indeed as regards how great these states would become. Aside from the wide awakening among the peoples of Africa that their greatest need was freedom - freedom from colonial rule and foreign oppression; and the cessation of the expropriation of the wealth of their countries by the colonialists - there arose a great surge in the self-discovery and education of the people. This book exposes the forces and reasons for the decline of Nigeria in the comity of nations. The issues that have troubled Nigeria and have caused its near down-fall and degradation need to be fully identified and addressed, such that Nigeria would eventually once more find its feet. This book contains such a reasonable wealth of information, about which many contemporary Nigerians may not be fully aware, partly through no fault of theirs, and mainly because of the negative posture and the propensity of the Nigerian leaders who rather prefer to keep Nigerians in ignorance.
