More DescriptionTHE PEOPLE THAT MADE SEWANEE, identifies those that physically constructed the majestic structures on the campus of the University of the South, area homes and businesses. I write about the worker in the sawmills, steam laundry, and the shop keepers, and those that lived in a greater area of Sewanee. The book goes section by section; to include Bob Town, Jump Off, Midway, and more. Old stagecoach routes, inns and hotels are identified. I tell about the roads, train track and trains. This book holds many photographs of people and places, never before published, and naming those that lived there. It also includes the 1940 Federal census of the area for reference. My aim in my history books is an effort to preserve Sewanee's history for all to know and to correct discrepancies of the past as they are found.
