More DescriptionTreehouse, its preview10/5/13This is a small coffee-table book that's of and about my tree-house driven paintings. It includes thirty reproductions of them on its pages and it discusses the things that have gone into their creation. But in order to write about them, I also had to discuss my concept and the ways it gives me the artistic freedom I need to portray my subjects in the ways I do. It also includes comments about my background; my inspirations; my processes and in it I also tell stories about a variety of my experiences. And they turned it into an autobiography that includes the influences that turned me into an artist. But other than those; I decided to say almost nothing about my personal life. The adventures of my life would require another book entirely. However, the reason I've written and put this book together, is because right from the first, whenever I have shown Treehouse in public the paintings have drawn large excited crowds; yet almost no one ever asked me for my prices. And when I've shown them in other, less public venues, my paintings have turned those into impromptu museums where people have returned again and again just to see them again. So, for a long time I've known I'd need to paint a large enough group of intriguing subjects, so you would find perusing them in a book a worthwhile experience. However, it took me three years to get it right, even though just about every three days I was convinced it already was. So every three days for the past three years I've been reinstalling and reviewing the results. But every time, I kept finding ways to improve it. And once found, I felt I had no choice but to do whatever was required. This continued until three PM; just ten hours ago. Then three days ago in a letter I received, I found "An art book is a museum without walls." It was originally written by Andre Malraux, but it was so appropriate to this book I had to include it on its first page.
