Rivera, Jenni (Author)
Jenni Rivera was born in California on July 2, 1969. She studied business administration and worked in the office of her father's small Mexican music label in Long Beach, California. She recorded her first album, Chacalosa, in 1995. Due to its success, she recorded two more independent albums: We Are Rivera and Farewell to Selena. At the end of the 1990s, she was signed by Sony Music and released two more albums. Later, she joined Fonovisa and released Partier, Rebellious and Daring in 2005. During her lifetime, she won 15 gold records, 15 platinum records, and 5 double platinum records.

She appeared in the indie film Filly Brown as the incarcerated mother of Filly Brown and on the reality television show I Love Jenni. At the time of her death, she had signed with the ABC television network to star in her own sitcom. She died in a plane crash on December 9, 2012 at the age of 43.
