More DescriptionVisual stimuli and clinical vignettes are frequently used in medical, nursing, and other allied health examinations. The learner's ability to correctly answer multiple questions is often dependent on his or her initial diagnosis of a case.
In this publication, which is a part of the Visual Diagnosis Series®, we will review classic clinical vignettes and visual stimuli of disease processes that are commonly asked about in clinical examinations as nursing and medical school examinations, residency in-service examinations, and USMLE® Steps 2 and 3 examinations as well as board exams. Each case will include a brief review of the findings seen in the visual stimuli as well as multiple- choice questions that will highlight important clinical aspects of the medical condition.
Learners who are studying for the USMLE® STEP 2 exam should focus on memorizing the classic history and physical findings as described in the clinical vignettes as well as the findings seen in the visual stimuli. Advanced learners, studying for clerkships, USMLE® STEP 3, in-service and board examinations will benefit from the added questions that cover advanced diagnostics, pathophysiology and management pearls.
