Young British archaeologist Robert Sutherland is found dead on the floor of his tent in Mohenjo-daro. His Indian assistant Shankar Raman disappears without a trace, and is suspected of foul play. Valuable artifacts - a skull and a gold necklace - are also missing. The year is 1926. Eighty-six years later, Sutherland's great-grandson Gordon goes to Mohenjo-daro to investigate the premature death of the archaeologist. His college-mate Sarasvati Desikan-Raman accompanies him, wanting to clear her great-grandfather Shankar Raman of the accusation of theft, and possibly murder. At the site they stumble upon a 4500 year old murder. A secret enemy, the Dark Reflector, is determined to destroy all clues, and end the legacy of shame that has darkened the Reflector's family's reputation for generations. Other veiled eyes watch them closely as well, eyes belonging to the Great Adorers, worshipers of the Sumerian goddess Inanna. Certain artefacts and documents finally reveal surprising secrets.
