Laugh With Dinosaurs

Laugh With Dinosaurs
Jyoti Yelagalawadi

"Laugh With Dinosaurs", written by Jyoti Yelagalawadi and illustrated by Harsha Nagaraju is the first book of a series, "Animal Alphabet". Twenty-six uncommon dinosaurs, each starting from a different letter of the alphabet enthralls the young reader, as he looks at pictures that one cannot help smiling at. It is a book that grows with a preschooler as he learns to recognize the alphabet, and then use the phonetic guide to pronounce difficult sounding dinosaur names. Older children learn about the different flora and fauna that grew during the different geological periods. The stark difference between the present day world and the world inhabited by the dinosaurs is clearly portrayed in simple English. A two-page spread discusses the different types of dinosaurs and a pictorial appendix explains how dinosaurs are named.

Gojirasaurus, who hiked along the Cooper Canyon formations in New Mexico, Qantassaurus, whose fossils were flown by Qantas airlines, and Nqwebasaurus, whose name is pronounced by producing a click on the letter “Q” are just three of the twenty six interesting dinosaurs depicted in this 32 page full color hardcover picture book.

The author presently resides in San Jose, CA with her husband and two children. She immigrated to this country fifteen years ago after majoring in Zoology and continued her education while getting a degree in Computer Science and Creative Writing. While continuously writing stories and poems, she has worked as a Technical Writer and currently holds the position of Chief Editor for a popular children's magazine.
