Nina Kantabee is the seven-year old protagonist in the soon-to-be best-selling Children’s book, The Giant Strawberry. Nina is the only daughter of Elmer and Annie Kantabee. She is a precocious little girl, as most seven year-olds are, but oh how she is loved by all in the community. The story is set in an agricultural farming community where strawberries are the main commodity.
One day however, little Nina loses track of time while playing ball with her friends down the road. So, she hurries home because she must reach home before dark, remembering her mother’s last words.
On this particular night however, she fails to reach home before dark and what she encounters in the middle of the road will not only startle and surprise you, but how she manages to “get through” this giant obstacle will delight and amuse you.
Meiko S. Patton’s entertaining story, lovable characters and humorous illustrations are sure to capture the hearts and minds of young and old alike. It will remind all age groups what it’s like to be a “kid” again.
