He joins the Navy Reserve and ends up in Viet Nam anyway.During his 351 days in Da Nang, he is at the Naval Support Activity on the Tien Sha peninsula as a Security guard, on the Monkey Mountain patrol, and as a NSA Investigator. While in Da Nang, he experiences rocket attacks, an ammunition dump explosion, drug deals, police raids, and the birth of his first child, Rebecca. He also makes two life long friends that contribute to this story. Cheryl, his wife of 45 years, has been a tremendous help in editing this story.
