Leo Tolstoy, Thomas Mann, Franz Kafka, Virginia Woolf, Albert Camus, Giorgio Bassani, J. M. Coetzee, and Primo Levi--these are the writers whose works Brombert plumbs, illuminating their views on the meaning of life and the human condition.
