We all have secrets, and I am no different. In this book I even reveal a couple of my dirty little secrets. One is that I don't really want to stop my addiction. I like the "high!" I just don't want the guilt and shame that comes with it. I have been trying to fix myself for over 50 years and have made almost no progress. In fact if I were being totally honest I would have to admit that I am actually getting better at being an addict. After all I have had a lot of practice. Not something that I am proud of. Just a fact. Imagine my surprise when I felt led to write a book on the "New Covenant" gospel, then, after more than 10 restarts, I discovered that the Lord was actually leading me to write a book on "Recovery." When I figured out that I was writing one way and being led another I had to laugh out loud. Who would have thought that I would be writing on a topic that I was more of a negative example for than a positive one?Yet, unbeknownst to me, the Lord was bringing a deep healing in my spirit, mind, and body. This healing was just about to reveal itself by allowing my addiction to fall away with no effort on my part. How this happened is what this little book is all about. It is about how the Lord led me to realize that I not only wanted to be a Christian, but to know him and to love him intimately. I started to make "Seeing Jesus" my prayer request. I had no idea what this meant in the physical world but I felt a deep need to know him and see him. I knew that I didn't know how to go about this adventure and that I would need his guidance and help.If you would like to discover a life of joy and happiness that opens up a future of possibilities that you have given up on then join me on this journey. Our God specializes in the impossible.One of the first steps in my journey was to get rid of my misconceptions about the Lord and Christianity. I've presented some of them here that might make your journey a little easier than mine. I have also tried to trim down all the theology and church speak so that with just a few Core Concepts, so you can have a much easier time seeing the entrance to the path that the Lord is directing you along. You can be sure that Jesus has an infinitely personal plan for your life and is ready to meet you wherever you are right now. I have a second dirty little secret that I want you to know about. Not only do I not really want to stop my addictive behavior, I have actually not even tried to stop or help or be better or anything. If anything I was being extra bad. I didn't even try. How could I, when I had been trying for over 50 years with no progress? Yet here I am after just a short time getting better! Each of our paths have been individually planned by the Lord so there is no formula enclosed that you need to follow or 10 steps that you need to take. I do list about 6 mini-steps for your information. Just in case you want a little help getting started. Not so much that you will feel that I am directing you down the same path that I am traveling with the Lord. But maybe a different perspective.
