Kenneth and Gerry have met in college and lived together for 42 years. Their happy lives came to a stop when Gerry died of lung cancer even though both of them did not smoke.
When Gerry died, Ken finds it hard to function. He retires at 61, stops attending the events that he and Gerry used to attend, and becomes a hermit.
Through the years, Ken and Gerry have been friends with another couple, Bob and Bill, who have retired in South Florida. They had been bugging him to visit them. In December Ken gets another invitation, and he finally relents and accepts their invitation.
On the plane, Ken falls asleep and dreams of Gerry. It seems so real, and a flight attendant wakes him up and informs him that he'd been sobbing loudly.
Bob and Bill fetch him from the airport, along with a handsome guy named Bailey. Ken learns that Bailey's partner, James, had died of pancreatic cancer, and that he lives next door to Bob and Bill. After a shower, Ken falls asleep and once again dreams of Gerry, this time with another handsome man named James, Bailey's partner. The two apparitions urge him to find happiness again and to move on.
And when Ken meets with Bailey that day, the latter also relates about a dream he has of James, and Gerry. They look at each other, eyes full of question. Is it truly a miracle? And can both Ken and Bailey find love in each other?
