In this postmodern parody of historical and travel writing, a correspondent is dispatched to Sydney, Australia and goes rogue, sending back a series of absurd stories imagining false histories of real places which satirise the city and its people. As he surveys the famous sights, such as the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach, an arm-wrestle develops over the itinerary with the imagined Reader. At first his misrepresentation is harmless enough, but will the correspondent himself be the ultimate victim of his inability to tell fact from fiction?
