More DescriptionThis book is written to tell the story of one woman's life, her wartime childhood years, and move to Australia as a teenager. It was there that she met her life-long best friend and husband, Philip Hawkins. Although starting their married life in Australia, they then moved back to England with their young family, settling first in Crawley, Sussex, for sixteen years; and then moving to Moseley, Birmingham in 1974, where they still live today. Their three children, Laurie, Vicki and Jim are married and are living in Stevenage, Epsom and Harrow. Jo and Phil now have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who bring great joy into their lives. Jo and Phil Hawkins celebrated their 60th - Diamond wedding anniversary in January 2011.When asked why she wrote this book, Jo answered:I've written these things down for you, my close and beloved family and friends, partly because I thought you might like to know more about the real me! Not just as your friend, mother, grandmother, or in-law, but also, so that you would be interested in a little detail of your own beginnings and our side of the story. Above all, I hope you will see how God has worked in our lives, gently and quietly guiding and directing (when we were willing!) and occasionally dramatically intervening. May we all continue to follow fearlessly where He leads!
