Sara Bareilles was born on December 7, 1979 in Eureka, California. She was involved in music throughout high school and college and is a self-taught musician. Her alma mater is University of California, Los Angeles.Today, she is a five-time Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, and musician. Known for her warm, intimate voice and naturally melodic songs, she has released five albums, including 2013's critically acclaimed The Blessed Unrest. Her current book, "Sounds Like Me: My Life (So Far) in Song" is on the 2015 New York Times bestsellers list. She lives in New York City.
