A road trip culinary adventure...
Tom and Rebecca Harkley are about to experience the most trying week of their marriage. Set against a backdrop of food, Stealing Food Road is a novel of literary fiction that takes readers on a road trip from San Francisco to Chicago. Tom is trying to find a recipe that he can use for the large national chain of restaurants that he works for. As a marketer, his mission is to find good food and to steal it. Naturally, his wife Rebecca is none too pleased with this approach - especially since she is a rising star chef in the San Francisco culinary scene.
Stealing Food Road by Brian Krepshaw is a story of action and reaction. Tom wants a child, Rebecca does not. This source of frustration between the two shapes their decay. The miles pile up between them as Tom searches America for the winning recipe that will save his declining restaurant chain - and his job. But at what cost? Back home, Rebecca endures power struggles with her boss, Chef Geoff, and starts to imagine a life without Tom. Together they fall apart while separately they self-destruct.
No road trip is complete without meeting characters along the way. Tom, initially hesitant to actually steal a recipe, finds himself at a table in a restaurant in Albuquerque with UFO searchers and a Bigfoot hunter. Given the opportunity to explore the kitchen, Tom embarks on an internal quest to find his own missing link, but not before the long miles of the road start to get to him.
There are a lot of cracks in the road...
