More DescriptionPersonal trainers, personal shoppers and borderline personality disorders fill the daily void of Thom Thompson, a young, rising sitcom star whose pampered Hollywood existence has become even more two-dimensional than the nihilistic character he portrays on TV. When Thom's estranged twin shows up on set and begins impersonating him (after a lengthy hibernation shooting gay porn), Thom's keen sense of denial instinctively seeks refuge in crystal meth. But a voicemail from his father, whom his valium-popping mother "accidentally" murdered decades ago, pushes an already fragile Thom over the edge.
In his meth-addled state, Thom abandons the show and leaves his fledgling celebrity in the hands of his jealous twin before embarking on a cross-country quest for the truth about his father's mysterious disappearance. During his transgressive journey, Thom must confront his agoraphobic, shut-in mother about faking his father's funeral and come to terms with the truth behind his once-privileged childhood. The uncertainties mount quickly as Thom moves closer to solving his sobering familial mystery, while simultaneously moving further from his grip on reality during his sleepless, week-long crystal meth binge.
