More DescriptionThe Christians in Apostle Peter's and Paul's time could not blend into society without being recognised as followers of Jesus Christ. Being branded a Christian was to be marked for ostracism, persecution and even death. But these early followers of the Lord managed to impact their communities without money, cell phones, private assistants and all other "aids" modern Christians depend upon. How could 120 men and women without these tools impact the world that did not want their message?
Arguably there are more "Christians" alive today than in the first century. If we were to bring those first followers of Jesus Christ into our Christian communities, would they pick us out as Christians? Nyondo believes not, because the world's values have impacted the church so much that it is not easy to make a distinction between Christians and other people.
In The Prayers of Jesus Christ and Those of His Apostles, Nyondo has scoured the New Testament for every prayer recorded that Jesus Christ, the early church and the apostles made to highlight the importance of prayer. The words of their prayers and the value they placed on prayer hold powerful clues as to why God used them mightily against great odds.
James Nyondo, LL.M. has a long history of helping his people throughout Malawi, as well as other parts of the Eastern and Southern region of Africa. Nyondo is a lawyer, development worker, President of the National Salvation Front, and presidential candidate in the 2014 Malawi elections.
