More Description"The Season" is a fantasy suitable for young adults and mature readers as well. The story is set in a town called Newkirk in Middle Earth during the 21st Century. Leaders called the Talking Heads have gained control every aspect of life there. These leaders stream information via receivers that citizens carry at all times. Language has degenerated into a set of texts bearing no similarity to the language used to recount the story of the season. This story has been preserved by an old priest in a rectory located at the top of Mt. Pleasant. Friar Assalam is the last of a brotherhood schooled in the language that no longer exists. Therefore, the story and its lessons have been lost and problems erupt throughout the nation because of this. Violence and terrible weather create anger and fear and none of the Talking Heads have any viable solutions. Among those affected is a boy named Gavril, a sensitive musician who loses his beloved violin to the voracious vortex that has consumed Newkirk. In the search for his violin, he learns the story of "The Season" and devises a way to bring back the robin's song into the hearts of the citizens of Newkirk and restore the meaning behind the traditions of "The Season."
