More DescriptionOnce every 400 days, a camera, on Mt. Elbert in Colorado, takes a picture of earth, Venus, Mercury and the sun the moment they are in a straight line. DR. JIM RENNER, astronomical physicist, believes that it started in the year of 3,038 C when an asteroid, with tremendous force, collides with the southern part of the African continent. He establishes that the asteroid's impact snapped earth into a steady state rotation around the sun and designs the Renner Calendar, based on the decimal system.DR. SAM WENDELL, a friend of Dr. Renner, is a physicist who has developed time travel and they are taking a trip into the past. While Wendell must base his time placements on the Gregorian calendar, he loses control of his capsule. After the capsule throws him around, he takes hold of the electric cord and pulls the plug. When he looks at the control board, he sees that they have traveled into the past to 2.3 million BC. After the friends recuperate from this near death experience, they slowly return to the present, making frequent stops. At 1.6 million BC, they leave their phase engine capsule when they hear the roar of wolves and the crying of babies. Behind a large boulder, they find a young woman, lying on her back, protecting two babies with her right arm. She can't use her left arm because a wolf chewed it off up to the elbow and blood is flowing freely. Since she can't speak, she uses body language, pleading with them to care for her children. When she finishes this difficult task, she dies. The friends name the siblings SATUR and SATURA and they return them to the year 3,045 AD to raise them with their families. The wives of Wendell and Renner are unable to deal with the unruly siblings. The wives hire TANIA, a roboid to become the children's governess. She stays with them day and night, even at school, but the siblings still manage to escape, while Tania was engages in an illicit affair in the school's library. When they turn six, they kill a mountain lion and devour its steaming brain. In the classroom, they undress and urinate on the floor. At ten, they escape again and kill a wild boar in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Finally, Wendell decides to return the siblings to the past to place them with a tribe in 1.2 million BC, because the sibling could not adapt to the living styles in 3045.A few years later, after they have earned their PHD's in anthropology, the children of Wendell and Renner marry and they pursue their lifelong dream of determining the true heredity of humans - something that their parents were also interested in. Wendell and Renner take a final trip, 200 years into the future. Tania is the capsule pilot. This final trip was a total disappointment for them. They find out their son had no off springs, however he was a successful scientist. Both die, being infected by an advanced strain of the Ebola virus. Tania finds out that roboids are slowly taking over operations on earth. She returns to her present and inherits all the Wendell and Renner properties. Since she is the ultimate authority, barring none, she writes textbooks about the philosophy and behavior of pre-historic children.
