The story is about South Africa before and after apartheid. It deals with forgiveness and reconciliation between its different race groups and how they found each other through the grace and help of God.Its starts with the soccer world cup in Mexico in 1986 and its ends with the 2010 world cup in south africa.It also deals with a young mother who is forced to give up her child in the apartheid era and discovers him 24 years later when he is chosen to play for South Africa in the 2010 soccer world cup quite by accident. Because the boy Gomez' father was latino and he was a shade darker he had to be given up for adoption hence the title "The story of Gomez'.
