More DescriptionA Friendly Foreigner in CHINA comes as a journal relating experiences, observations, insight and fullness of being within China as a foreign Teacher with all I could offer in the area of English with my passion for this language, as well as my philosophy of life and poetry, which was all very appreciated by the three Schools I worked with for the best part of three years
As an avid traveller, I arrived in China in February 2008 embracing Unknown'. Knowing very little about this Country as most people then, but within my heart lived the pure intention that with my smile' and who I am' I would contribute all I could in every way possible, coping with whatever would come my way. Little did I know that I would go back a second time in 2009, and a third time
This book comes in Three Parts along with time as it was', indeed. The title for each Part is very significant as I wrote it before getting there each time, a kind of prediction, and I was amused to find out after the first three months in China from songs that the language sounds so much like "ch, sh, sh" I included a small number of my poems and some quotes along the way, which were shared and vibrated very well with Chinese people as I did, as a person
In my book "China is about the people". It revolves around human relationships within education areas and the community in relation to me, with ongoing discoveries of this Country and its Culture and more understanding.
I am so grateful that CHINA gave me the opportunity to be "the Teacher I could be" with a chance to live this great big Adventure, gaining a Chinese name in the first three weeks, meaning fragrance/smell good' and it stayed with me in the spirit of it all. I embraced this Country, its rich Culture and its people within great diversity. The highlight of it all was my many Students and the Friends I am lucky to have from such a Journey.
French/Australian, I am a French Ethnic Teacher as well as a TESOL Teacher. My area of expertise has been within Education with a different unique touch with languages and various Arts (Silk painting, Performing, Photography)
